Excited-state reversible geminate recombination with quenching in one dimension

چکیده
We obtain the exact Green function for excited-state geminate reversible dissociation with two different lifetimes and quenching in one dimension, in the absence of a potential of interaction. We consider the ground-state and irreversible reactions as special limits, and investigate the long time asymptotic behavior in comparison with that observed in three dimensions. © 1999 American Institute of Physics. @S0021-9606~99!50633-8#

Diffusion-influenced reversible geminate recombination in one dimension. III. Field effect on the excited-state reaction.
We obtain exact analytic solutions of the diffusion-influenced excited-state reversible geminate recombination reaction, A* + B<-->(AB)*, with two different lifetimes and quenching under the influence of a constant external field in one dimension. These fundamental solutions generalize two previous results [Kim et al., J. Chem. Phys. 111, 3791 (1999); 114, 3905 (2001)] and provide us with the i...

We study steady-state and time-resolved fluorescence of 5-cyano-2-naphthol in various pure solvents. To some of these, excited-state proton transfer occurs within the excited-state lifetime of the chromophore. Solvatochromic shifts in the acid and anion bands are analyzed using the empirical Kamlet-Taft approach. The hydrogen-bond donated from the OH group to basic solvents accounts for most of...
متن کاملExcited-state reversible geminate reaction. III. Exact solution for noninteracting partners
An analytic solution is derived for the Green function and survival probability of excited-state reversible recombination reactions of noninteracting geminate particles in solution, which have different lifetimes in their bound and unbound states and participate in a competing quenching reaction. The behavior of the three roots of the cubic polynomial, on which this solution depends, is investi...

A realistic description of the kinetics of excited-state proton transfer to solvent ~PTTS! involves several simultaneous processes. Perhaps most well-studied is the reversibility of this diffusion-influenced reaction, leading to the t asymptotic decay of the initially bound state. This shows that the solvated geminate proton may recombine with the base adiabatically, in the excited electronic s...

In green fluorescent protein, photo-excitation leads to excited-state proton transfer from its chromophore, leavingbehind a strongly fluorescing anion, while the proton is commonly thought tomigrate internally toGlu-222. X-ray data show that theprotein contains more extended hydrogen-bonded networks that can support proton migration (i.e., proton wires). Here we studythe temperature...
